Sharing and Improving: EDU 675
I have been able to share my website with my fellow sixth grade reading teacher and it has helped me to see what I have created from anther viewpoint, which has allowed me to think about other things I could add, etc. For example, we have created a curriculum map that would allow parents to view everything that their child will be learning throughout the year in our class, which I should post on the parent page of my website. Also, she liked the idea of having students of the month and said that maybe we could even have the students type this information on their own so that it would save us time; this would allow us to even have a student of the week on the site and then more students would get a turn. Overall, I know that we can both utilize what I have started to improve our communication with parents and students and increase the use of technology in our classrooms!

That's what I'm talkin' about! Great job making real world use of this Web 2.0 stuff. I love the idea of using kids to add material to the site... gives them real publishing power.
ReplyDeleteSharing the website with the kids has been the best part. When we were i the lab my kids kept saying...."What's your link Miss Smith???"
ReplyDeleteGlad we got everything squared away for our project!
ReplyDeleteThis is great that you can share your site and that you are creating ideas from it. I like the idea of having the student of the month type their own information. Everything sounds great! I will begine working on the powerpoint tomorrow, Mon. May 24! Take care!
